In a significant move aimed at strengthening the digital infrastructure of the judiciary, the High Court of Jharkhand has distributed Samsung Galaxy S9 Tabs to 496 judicial officers serving in various civil courts throughout the State. This initiative was undertaken on the recommendation of the Computer and Digitization Committee of the High Court of Jharkhand and approved by the Chief Justice, High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi. The distribution ceremony was organised on the eve of the annual summer vacation and in the premises of High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi.  Justice Ananda Sen, Chairman of Computer and Digitization Committee, along with Justice Gautam Kumar Choudhary and Justice Arun Kumar Rai, the two members of the said committee were present on the occasion. The Judges personally distributed the tablets to some of the judicial officers posted in Ranchi. Registrar General, along with other Registry members including the Central Project Coordinator were also present during the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ananda Sen said that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with advanced features such as Speech-to-Text functionality, AI integration, and other modern productivity applications, which will serve as a valuable support tool and assist the Judicial Officers in performing their duties. Notably, the District courts are facing acute shortage of stenographers and therefore, the Speech-to-Text feature of the tablet will help officers in dictating orders and judgments. The device offers a high-resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, S Pen support for precise note-taking, powerful Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 processor for seamless multitasking, enhanced security features, and long battery life - making it a robust tool for professional use in the judicial ecosystem. Judicial officers welcomed the initiative, expressing confidence that this will substantially help them in their day to day judicial work. This measure reflects the High Courts proactive approach in embracing technology to enhance institutional efficiency, reaffirming its commitment to facilitating judicial officers in the diligent and effective execution of their responsibilities.
