BJPs Tiranga Yatra to divert public attention: JMM

  • | Thursday | 15th May, 2025

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya attacked the Central Government and BJP in a press conference on Wednesday. He alleged that BJP is organising Tiranga Yatra to hide the valour of the army and divert public attention. Bhattacharya said, "Our soldiers showed valour in front of Pakistan, but before the ceasefire, the tweet of the US Presidents office comes, then the tweet of Indias Foreign Ministry. This makes it clear that the valour of our army was suppressed under political diplomacy. This Tiranga Yatra is an attempt to cover it up." The JMM Leader also took Prime Minister Narendra Modi to task and said, "You do not go to Manipur, but you definitely take away the minerals of Jharkhand. You do not even pay its royalty. We are working to provide water to the people in the state, but the Central Government is shying away from supporting this scheme." Bhattacharya alleged that Jharkhand ministers are repeatedly writing letters and emails to Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, but are not even getting time for a meeting. He said, "It has been said that the ministers should go to Delhi and sit on a dharna outside the ministry. Now there will be no begging. Now there will be agitation for every penny." Accusing the Central Government of bias, the JMM Leader said, "Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are given surplus money, but Jharkhand and Bengal are the eyesore of the center. The question is what have we done to the Government of India?" Bhattacharya expressed concern over the issue of water and said that the water crisis is becoming serious in the summer, but the center is doing politics by avoiding it. He warned, "Whenever someone will talk about his rights, the Central Government will try to suppress his issue. But now this will not work. Jharkhand will take its money." This statement of Bhattacharya has come in response to the BJPs Tiranga Yatra, which is being taken out across the state with the aim of boosting the morale of the army.
