A workshop was organized at the Animal Husbandry Directorate with the aim of promoting agro value chain in Jharkhand. Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department and Grant Thornton Bharat LLP jointly organized this workshop. Progressive farmers and farmers associated with FPO participated in this workshop. The one-day workshop was inaugurated by Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey by lighting the lamp. Addressing the workshop, the Agriculture Minister said that agriculture needs to be seen from the perspective of science and business. Change in agriculture is not possible until the perspective changes. Today people are themselves accepting that there is some movement in the Agriculture Department. Now people are getting information about the schemes of the Agriculture Department. The people of the state have a lot of expectations from the Agriculture Department. She said that earlier there was no discussion about FPO. Today 3 thousand to 14 thousand men and women are associated with FPO. A lot can be done with collective efforts. Work is being done on how to connect the production in the field of agriculture to the market. There should always be improvement in the system. Along with this, there is a need to move forward in policy terms as well. Jharkhand is at the forefront in lac cultivation, but it has to be ensured that the farmers associated with lac production get the right price. On this occasion, a grant of Rs 6 lakh 59 thousand was given to the FPO of Barkagaon in Hazaribagh. Departmental Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddiqui, Agriculture Director Tarachand, Rishu Ravi, Prof. V Padmanand were mainly present in the workshop.
