The Healing Garden of Hope: How Namrataa Arora and Sunny Arora Turned a Dream into Amber Charitable Trust

  • | Monday | 19th May, 2025

Amber began as a shared dream — and became our purpose. Antara  (smiling): Namrataa, Sunny — every meaningful initiative often begins with a powerful story from the heart. Would you be kind enough to take us back to the moment Amber Charitable Trust was born? What moved you both to walk this path of mental wellness, and to walk it together? Namrataa (with a gentle smile): Thank you so much for this beautiful question, Shreya. Amber is truly a dream—one that came into our lives about two years ago. And I say dream quite literally. One morning, Sunny and I were sharing our usual cup of tea, and I began describing a vivid dream I had. To my amazement, we realized we had both dreamt something strikingly similar—a garden full of happy, laughing children. The garden had a name: Amber. I remember speaking first, and Sunny listened quietly, his eyes reflecting the same magic I had felt. Then he softly said, Magic. That one word lingered in the air like a blessing. As we reflected on it, especially through the lens of my work in psychology, we felt a deep connection to the idea of creating a joyful, safe space for healing—especially in a world where emotional struggles are often misunderstood. Thats how Amber was born. A space built not just from intention, but from shared intuition and love. Art, mindfulness, and community — our three pillars of healing. Antara (nodding): Youve chosen to centre Amber around healing through art, mindfulness, and community. May I ask—why did these three pillars speak to you so deeply? And how have they shaped your journey both personally and professionally? Namrataa (smiling thoughtfully): Thank you for asking this, Shreya. For me, true empowerment begins with self-healing. When we are truly at peace within ourselves, we become vessels of light for others. The world becomes less overwhelming, more beautiful—like a canvas painted from within. The mind is such a powerful and mysterious force—almost like the most complex software we possess. Through creativity—art, dance, music—we can access parts of ourselves that words cant reach. These mediums bring us closer to our emotions and help us stay content, which in turn creates harmony around us. Imagine if even one person in a family felt truly peaceful—how it would ripple outwards and uplift everyone. As a psychologist and tarot counsellor, Ive been blessed to speak to many people over the years. And what Ive realised is that often, life isnt as difficult as it seems—it just feels that way when our heart and mind are not aligned. Amber became my peace... and my purpose. Sunny (smiling warmly): For me, this journey has been deeply transformative. After decades in the liquor industry, entering the world of Amber was like stepping into light from a long tunnel. It was a shift—not just in profession, but in perspective. My days are still busy with meetings and calls, but Amber became our peaceful haven. A place where I could just be—share a little wisdom, offer a little comfort, and gently pass on what we call happy hopes. It makes even the most exhausting day feel worthwhile. Over time, I also discovered a deep connection with numerology. Initially just a curiosity, it gradually became something more—something meaningful. Today, I practice numerology with gratitude, using it to guide those seeking clarity and direction. Its my small but sincere way of giving back. Tarot, lifestyle, and music—tools that help us remember who we are. Antara  (smiling at Namrataa): Namrataa, your work brings together such unique practices—tarot counselling, lifestyle guidance, and music therapy. How did each of these find a place in your life, and how do they support inner healing together? Namrataa (nodding gently): Thats such a kind question—thank you, Shreya. At its core, my work is about bringing a smile to every face that meets mine. A smile is warmth—it softens sorrow and offers comfort without needing to say a word. Tarot began as a hobby for me, and slowly turned into a voluntary profession. I never felt right about charging for energy meant to uplift. Tarot isnt about predicting the future—its about accessing your subconscious. It gently shows where your balance is missing, and how to return to it. Once you know what you truly want, fear melts, and hard work becomes joyful. Thats also how lifestyle counselling became part of what I do—it works beautifully with tarot. They both help align the inner and outer self. As for music therapy—music is pure emotion. It doesnt matter if you know an instrument. What matters is acknowledging your emotions, your thoughts. Whether its drumming, clapping, or just listening to a song you love—it clears the minds clutter. Its like sweeping out the dust to let in fresh air. Amber is our happy place. And we want to share it with the world. Antara (with a warm smile): Sunny, it must be incredibly meaningful to walk this journey alongside your life partner. How has co-creating Amber with Namrataa influenced your outlook on love, service, and the way you see life? Sunny (smiling gently): Thank you, Shreya. Yes, its been very special. Namrataa and I come from completely different industries, but weve always had this one thing in common—our desire to give, especially to those who often go unseen. We promised each other not to let professional stress enter our home. Thats how Amber was born—it gave us a shared purpose. Our goal was simple: to spread happiness, freely and fully. We hold voluntary events where strangers become like family—just by sitting together, talking, and sharing. That feeling of I can call him or her when Im in distress... thats what truly matters. Amber has taught us how to stay calm in chaos. And were grateful every day for this journey. Amber is the sky—a shelter of light, emotion, and belonging. Antara (gently): Looking ahead, what dreams do you both hold for Amber Charitable Trust? What do you envision it becoming in the years to come? Namrataa & Sunny (in unison, smiling): Thank you for this heartfelt question. For us, dreams dont really end—they just evolve. The more people we meet, the more we learn. And through that learning, we hope to grow Amber into a true shelter. Just like the sky gives comfort from the harshness of the unknown, Amber is meant to be that soft place to land—for anyone, from any walk of life. We dream of building a community rooted in mindfulness, creativity, and self-love. A place where every individual feels seen, heard, and safe to be themselves. Because at its heart, Amber is about one simple truth: Spreading happiness everywhere.
