Work begins on second phase of RIMS in Kanke

  • | Tuesday | 20th May, 2025

The Jharkhand government has started the process of construction of the second phase of RIMS, the states largest hospital, in Kanke, Ranchi. But as soon as the process of land measurement began, a dispute also started. The villagers did not allow the police and administration to measure the land. The administration claims that RIMS Part-2 is to be constructed on the land of Birsa Agriculture behind RINPAS in Kanke. But the villagers argue something else. Therefore, there was a deadlock at the measurement site throughout the day. The villagers stopped neither the measurement work saying that neither any compensation was given nor any notice for vacating the land. The administration is trying to grab the land forcibly. The villagers say that they have the papers of the concerned land. Whereas the CO of Kanke region says that the land on which the measurement is being done belongs to Birsa Agriculture. During this time, every effort was made to convince the villagers with the help of the local police. But the villagers did not back down. In response, the villagers planted a Sarna flag on the concerned land. Actually, the health department has decided to build RIMS-2 on 110 acres at a cost of Rs 1074 crore. There will be a facility of 700 beds for patients here. Also, there will be studies for 100 UG and 50 PG seats. The health minister argued that the building of RIMS has become very old. Therefore, it is very important to build Phase-2.
