CM Sorens thinking is Drug-free Jharkhand of ours

Rahul Purwar, Principal Secretary, Higher Education and Technical Department on Wednesday said that the thinking of the Chief Minister Hemant Soren to make Jharkhand drug-free and work has started rapidly in this direction. In view of this, this training program is being conducted. Master trainers of various departments are being trained on how they will go to their respective districts and establish coordination and make people aware and tell what are the ill effects of drugs. We have to free the youth of Jharkhand from the clutches of drug addiction. These words were said by Rahul Purwar during the Drug Abuse Awareness Training Program on Wednesday, the second day of the Master Trainer Training Program to prevent the abuse of prohibited drugs, being held at the Shaurya Auditorium in Doranda. On the second day, training was given to master trainers from various departments of the North Chotanagpur Division, in which officers from the Police Department were also present. Narcotics Control Bureau, Ranchis Intelligence Officer Kumar Manohar Manjul said that youth are ruining their lives by consuming opium, cocaine, heroin, ganja, cough syrup, whitener, dendrite and other drugs. We have to understand our role. People, youth have to be made aware about the ill effects of drug consumption. We have to understand the new trend of drugs that by which mediums and different drugs the youth use it as drugs and they have to be told about the harm caused by their use. Shri Kumar Manohar Manjul said that we have to adopt innovative methods to prevent drug addiction. In the urban areas of the state, the use of synthetic drugs (cough syrup, nail paint smell, dendrite, whitener) etc. is more prevalent. Referring to Khunti district, he said that the district administration is giving information about the harmful elements of opium cultivation in Khunti and necessary steps have been taken to prevent opium cultivation. They are being informed that opium cultivation is illegal, look for other options of farming and cultivate other crops. Rinpas Assistant Professor Dr Sajal Ashish Nag told how and why young people start taking drugs. They become addicted to drugs due to the environment and bad company, stress, easy availability and lack of knowledge about its side effects. He said that their behavior changes due to drug addiction. They do not feel like studying and become a loner. Suicidal tendencies develop. Dr Aniruddh Mukherjee of CIP gave detailed information about the measures to prevent drugs through PPT. He gave information about the reasons for drug addiction and how to avoid it. Mrityunjay Nayak of UNICEF gave a presentation on the role of communication and community activism in drug prevention. He said that India told the world how better results can come from collective support. Therefore, today we are training master trainers with the cooperation of all the concerned departments. In the second session of the training program, Subhadeep Adhikari of CINI gave information about the upcoming action plan on how to make the awareness program successful to prevent the misuse of prohibited drugs.
