Marandi smells scam in Dhoti Sari  Yojana

  • | Saturday | 24th May, 2025

BJP state president and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi has made serious allegations against the Jharkhand government and said that Sona Sobran Dhoti-Sari Yojana has fallen prey to corruption. He wrote on the social media platform X that the Jharkhand government had planned to give dhoti-sari to the poor for Rs 10, but instead of delivering it to the poor, the government is selling it in the open market through middlemen. Babulal alleged that Hemant Soren called this scheme his dream project and confused the public, but in reality government is selling clothes purchased from the government budget in the open market. He said that it is clearly written on these dhoti-saris that "Specially Manufactured for Government of Jharkhand - Not for Sale", that is, this dhoti is specially made for the Jharkhand government and it is not for sale. Despite this, it is openly available in the market. The BJP leader has urged the Chief Minister to instruct his daily DGP so that the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) immediately arrests the small middlemen involved in corruption. Babulal also warned that if action is not taken soon, ED and CBI may enter. Marandi also said that DGP Anurag Gupta is working illegally. If such a DGP kills someone, what action will be taken against him? He is not afraid of suspension because his service has ended, the Chief Minister has appointed DGP Anurag Gupta only to commit such crimes. Babulal Marandi said that I myself am afraid that when and whom he will get attacked. The Chief Minister should tell who will be responsible for this. Despite there being no legal basis, he is still working as DGP, which is surprising. Such a situation does not exist in any state of India. In fact, ever since the term of DGP Anurag Gupta ended on April 30, the BJP has been constantly raising questions about his continuing in the post. In this case, the Union Home Ministry has rejected the state governments recommendation to extend the term of DGP Anurag Gupta.
