BJP put forward 22 suggestions before the 16th Finance Commission. On behalf of BJP, Sudhir Srivastava, State Convenor Legal Cell BJP and Rakesh Prasad State Vice President put forward their suggestions and demands before the Finance Commission. BJPs demands and suggestions includes: State tax income details: Year-wise details of the states tax income should be released since the formation of Jharkhand. Panchayat and Municipality elections: Panchayat and Municipality elections should be held on time in the state so that the local bodies can get the benefit of the amount received from the Central Government. Lightning strike compensation: The compensation amount to the dependents of those who died due to lightning should be increased from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Compensation for death by drowning: Compensation should be given to the dependents of those who died due to drowning in rivers, ponds etc. Loss due to elephant menace: Villagers should be compensated if there is loss of life and property due to elephant menace. Accident prevention: The data of the efforts being made by the state government to prevent accidents should be released. Education grant: Details of grants given in the field of education should be made available to the general public. One Nation-One Dress: A uniform dress code should be implemented in schools so that parents can get relief. One Nation-One Election: Details of the benefits of conducting One Nation-One Election should be released by the Election Commission. Voter list and Aadhar card: Special efforts should be made to link the voter list with Aadhar card. Security during elections: One-day insurance of voters should be done at the polling station during elections. Infrastructure development: Special efforts should be made to improve the condition of infrastructure in Jharkhand. Facilities in schools: Facilities like toilets, playground and science laboratory should be provided in schools. Drinking water: The problem of drinking water should be solved in Jharkhand. Development of religious places: Facilities for devotees should be increased by developing religious places like Deoghar and Rajrappa. Remove encroachment: A big plan should be made to remove illegal encroachment.  Strengthening local bodies: By strengthening panchayats and municipalities, services like primary education, health and drinking water should be operated by local bodies.
