In a devastating incident, two brothers lost their lives in a road accident that occurred late Saturday night within the jurisdiction of the Meral police station in Garhwa district. A third brother sustained critical injuries. The accident took place at approximately 11 PM near Bana village, along the main Dandai road. The three brothers were returning home on a motorcycle after attending a wedding ceremony at their sisters house in Lawai village. The accident has cast a pall of grief over their village, and the grieving family is inconsolable. Locals are demanding the immediate arrest of the car driver and strict action against him. The deceased have been identified as sons of Achche Lal Vishwakarma, residents of Gonda village. The youngest, Pankaj Vishwakarma (25), died on the spot. The middle brother, Vivekanand Vishwakarma (35), was rushed to Daltonganj Sadar Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The eldest, Ambika Vishwakarma (40), sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment; his condition remains critical. According to reports, the accident occurred when a speeding car coming from the Meral side hit the motorcycle head-on in front of the residence of a local dealer, Dharmendra Chandravanshi, near Bana village. The impact was so intense that the motorcycle was completely destroyed, and all three brothers were thrown onto the road. Eyewitnesses claim the car involved belongs to Uday Vishwakarma of Dandai. Several liquor bottles were reportedly found inside the vehicle, raising suspicion that the driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. The car driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. Local residents informed the police, who arrived promptly, took possession of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination. The tragic deaths have sparked anger and mourning in the village. The victims family and local residents are demanding swift arrest of the accused driver and strict legal action. Police have confirmed that an FIR has been lodged, and an investigation is underway. The identity of the car owner has been established, and efforts are being made to apprehend the accused.
