  • | Wednesday | 4th June, 2025

In a heartwarming celebration of academic excellence and cultural pride, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar felicitated meritorious students of Class 10 and 12 board examinations at the Pratibha Samman Samaroh 2025, organised by Ashirwad Sanstha in Baharagora, East Singhbhum district on Tuesday. The ceremony, attended by hundreds of students, teachers, parents and dignitaries, turned into a vibrant display of youth potential, community pride, and the value of education in rural Jharkhand. Speaking at the event, Governor Gangwar said that Baharagora is a region blessed with a rich bilingual and bicultural heritage, where generations have brought glory to the state and the nation in fields such as education, art and social service. He lauded the local talent for their resilience and achievements, noting that the event was not merely a prize distribution ceremony but a celebration of deeper values like morality, discipline and social commitment. The students received laptop bags and certificates. The biggest asset of any nation is its young generation, the Governor remarked. When our students perform with excellence even in adverse circumstances, when they contribute to society, and when citizens embrace public service, it strengthens the very foundation of our country. He further stated that the aim of education must go beyond personal development to include a responsibility towards the society and nation. Encouraging the students to uphold cultural values, discipline, and social ethics, he urged them to channel their knowledge and energy towards community development. In a stirring message to the youth, he called upon them to become problem-solvers for their local areas, using science, technology and innovation to address the socio-economic challenges around them. Gangwar also highlighted the importance of foundational education in shaping the future of India. The future of the country depends on the strength of school education, he said. While efforts are being made to improve higher education, the quality of primary and secondary schooling is what forms a solid base for the youth. In a touching gesture that resonated with students and attendees alike, Governor Gangwar sat down for a simple meal with the students, chatting with them informally and sharing their joy. This act of humility won the hearts of many, who fondly referred to him as the Peoples Governor. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and pride, as students beamed with happiness at being recognised by the highest office of the state. Apart from individual students, several schools from the Baharagora region were also felicitated for their contribution to academic and social excellence. The recognition of rural institutions marked a significant step towards inclusivity and acknowledgment of educational efforts beyond urban centres. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, who was also present at the function, lauded the strides Baharagora has made in education over the years. Baharagora has always been conscious and active in the field of education, he said. Today, it is evolving into an emerging educational hub in this part of Jharkhand.
