Without environmental protection, vision of a developed India will remain incomplete: Babulal Marandi

  • | Friday | 6th June, 2025

Marking World Environment Day, the Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a statewide tree plantation drive — Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam — on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from party leaders, public representatives, and workers across all levels, from booth to state, who planted saplings in memory and honour of their mothers.   State BJP President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi planted trees at the Gaushala premises in Sahibganj District Headquarters during his organizational tour. Speaking on the occasion, Marandi said, India is making rapid progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the dream of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) cannot be fulfilled without safeguarding the environment.   Calling for a strong and sustainable India, Marandi emphasized the traditional Indian vision of Sujalam, Sufalam, Shasya Shyamala Maa Bharati, stating that just as a mother gives birth, nature gives life. Therefore, a tree planted in the name of ones mother is not only symbolic but also a powerful commitment to environmental conservation.   He urged BJP workers across Jharkhand to organize extensive tree plantation programs and to focus on planting fruit-bearing and medicinal plants that benefit humans, birds, and animals alike.   State General Secretary (Organisation) Karmveer Singh also stressed the intimate connection between humanity and nature. The body of every living being is made of five elements — their preservation is only possible through environmental protection. If the environment is saved, only then can humanity survive, he said.   State General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu joined the campaign by planting saplings at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Koolhi, Ormanjhi. Dr. Pradeep Verma participated in Namkum, while senior BJP leaders including MLAs C.P. Singh, Naveen Jaiswal, Balmukund Sahay and hundreds of party workers took part in various locations across the state.   The campaign aims to blend personal emotion with environmental responsibility, turning tree plantation into a tribute and a transformative mission — to build a greener, stronger, and more sustainable India.
