In a significant development, Vijay Mehta has been unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the Arya Samaj Trust Jamshedpur. The Arya Samaj Trust is known for its contribution to education and cultural values in the city, managing two prominent educational institutions – Dayanand Public School and Bhartiya Model Middle School – which cater to over 2,000 students. After his election,  Mehta thanked the Trustees for the faith they have placed in him and assured them that he would work collectively with all members to enhance the quality of education and values imparted to the students. He recalled the pivotal contributions of Late Dr. R. N. Sharma, the former Chairman, whose leadership played a crucial role in transforming the schools and establishing a strong academic and infrastructural base. He said that this years exceptional academic performance and developments such as new computer labs, science laboratories, a well-equipped library, and an open-air amphitheatre are the fruits of Dr. Sharmas visionary leadership. While pledging to carry forward the legacy of the Late Chairman,  Mehta outlined his vision for the future, with a strong focus on holistic education. He emphasized the need to go beyond academics and foster an environment that nurtures character, resilience, and values among students. Stressing the importance of stakeholder involvement, he called for stronger Parent–Teacher partnerships and announced initiatives such as alumnae mentorship programs, guest lectures by invited experts, and continuous professional development (CPD) programs for teachers – an initiative that had been strongly supported by Dr. Sharma.  Mehta lauded the commitment of the Trustees, many of whom are established professionals, for consistently contributing their time and energy toward providing the best learning experience for the children enrolled in the institutions. Vijay Mehta is an engineering graduate from Banaras Hindu University (1964 batch) and has a distinguished record in both professional and public life. He has served as President and Trustee of Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) and Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for Bihar and Jharkhand, and as Rotary District Governor for District 3250 (Bihar & Jharkhand). He has also been associated as President and Trustee with Sri Sai Centre Jamshedpur and was a Trustee of Arya Samaj Trust before being elected as its Chairman. Presently, he serves as the Managing Trustee of Shirdi Sai Charitable Trust Jamshedpur, an organisation actively engaged in alleviating food and resource insecurity in East Singhbhum district. The Trust delivers hot, nutritious meals to schoolchildren and marginalised village clusters in the region.
