Education Minister stresses on providing quality education in schools

A state level review meeting was held today in Jharkhand Education Project Council under the chairmanship of Education Minister Ramdas Soren. Departmental Secretary Umashankar Singh, Jharkhand Education Project Director Shashi Ranjan, Director of Primary and Secondary Education, District Education Officers of all districts, District Education Superintendents, Assistant District Program Officers, Law Executives, officials associated with the State Education Project attended this meeting. Addressing the meeting, Soren, emphasizing on quality education in schools, said that quality education is possible only when its monitoring system is strengthened. Soren said that District Education Officers and District Education Superintendents of all districts will conduct surprise inspections of schools of at least one block every week. Provide geo-tagged photos of the inspection to the department. The Minister said that teachers should not go to school to teach children considering it a government job. They should also understand their social responsibilities. Positive change in education is possible only when the officials posted in the districts play their role. The foundation of education in the districts rests on the shoulders of the District Education Officer and District Education Superintendent. He said that if the results are not as expected, then the department should take full responsibility for it. Also, teachers should have the fear that someone is behind them. Departmental Secretary Umashankar Singh directed to issue show cause notice to East Singhbhum, Lohardaga and Simdega for negligence in distribution of uniforms, textbooks, shoe and socks amount and stationery to the children. Also, displeasure was expressed on the performance of Jamtara district in distribution of stationery material. Secretary said that a team should be formed and a random survey of 50 schools of Deoghar, West Singhbhum, Palamu and Lohardaga should be conducted. On the basis of the survey report, it should be ensured whether the children are getting the benefits of the schemes on time or not. If any officer is found negligent at any level in the survey, then action should be taken against him as per rules. In the meeting, action has been ordered against teachers who have not completed the training under the 50-hour mandatory training program C-CPD program being run for continuous capacity and professional development of teachers. The teachers will be asked the reason, if a satisfactory answer is not received, action will be taken against such teachers. Instructions have been given to take action against careless teachers by preparing a charge sheet through the District Establishment Committee. In the meeting, the departmental secretary ordered the cases related to the enforcement pay scale by the first week of July. He has instructed to update the data related to the monthly rail examination on the e-Vidyavahini portal. While directing the officials, the Secretary said that the deputation of teachers should be investigated in the districts where graduate trained teachers have been deputed. Teacher deputation should be investigated in Ranchi, Palamu, Latehar, Dumka, East Singhbhum, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh. Secretary said that templates have been sent to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts on a total of 18 indicators. Ensure that those indicators are reviewed in the first week of every month under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners.
