The BJP has accused the State government of tampering with the security of the Jharkhand High Court. State spokesperson Pratul Nath Shahdeo made this allegation citing the report of the Special Branch. In a press conference, he said that in the name of security of the High Court, upgraded equipment has been purchased without tender, but when the Special Branch team investigated it in June 2024, it was found to be useless on the quality test. Therefore, the Chief Minister should take cognizance himself and ensure complete security arrangements for the High Court. Also, action should be taken in the matter of purchasing poor equipment from the quality point of view. Shahdeo, citing the report, said that the deep search mine metal detector, under vehicle search mirror and explosive detector are very poor from the quality point of view. According to the report of the Special Branch team, the deep search mine metal detector is completely useless. This equipment is not capable of detecting explosives. The quality of the under vehicle search mirror is also very poor. He has suggested to the state government that there should be no compromise with the security of the High Court. The state government should immediately take help from the Union Home Ministry and make the security of the High Court foolproof. The BJP spokesperson said that gun shootouts have taken place in the courts of Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur and Deoghar in Jharkhand. Therefore, the security of the High Court cannot be compromised at all. The State Government needs to follow Rajdharma and take strict action against the concerned officials as well as the agencies supplying the equipment. He asked that one year has passed since such a serious matter came to light. Still why no FIR has been registered against anyone. He has also expressed apprehension of commission games in the purchase of equipment.
