CM asks DCs to remain in alert mode during heavy rainfall in State

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today communicated with the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts through video conferencing from the Jharkhand Ministry and directed the officials to remain in full alert mode in view of the heavy rains in the state. The CM asked the DCs of all the districts to take effective steps to provide relief to the general public from the problem of waterlogging in urban and rural areas. Soren directed the DCs of all the districts to coordinate with the local authorities and try to end the waterlogging situation as soon as possible. The damage caused to infrastructure such as roads, bridges, houses, crops etc. in the districts should be assessed and an immediate report should be sent to the state government so that there is no delay in providing relief and compensation to the affected people. The CM directed the DCs of all the districts to keep the control rooms set up in the districts fully active. In view of the heavy rainfall, take the help of the NDRF team as well as the local people to avoid any kind of untoward incident at tourist places like waterfalls, barrages etc. He said that security personnel should also be deployed at the waterfalls as per the requirement. The CM directed the DCs to do spraying work in urban and rural areas where there is waterlogging so that the diseases caused due to it can be controlled. He directed that more cases of snake bites are also reported during the rainy season, in such a situation, all the necessary medicines should be made available in the health centers. He said that this year heavy rains are occurring at the beginning of the monsoon, so it is important to be prepared in advance to deal with the problems that may arise during the rainy season. The CM directed that whatever damage has been caused to roads, bridges, culverts due to heavy rains should be repaired immediately. He directed that another main reason for the collapse of any bridge or bridge can be illegal sand extraction, also get information about this and stop such work immediately. Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar and Deputy Commissioners of all the districts were present on the occasion through video conferencing.
