Bengal Foundation Day celebrated at Raj Bhawan

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, while addressing the Bengalis living in Jharkhand at the Bengal Foundation Day function organized at Raj Bhavan today said that our India is a country of diversity. The languages, traditions, culture and customs here are very rich and we are all tied together in one thread, this "unity in diversity" is our biggest strength and it presents a wonderful example to the whole world. The Governor said that we should not only respect our language and culture, but also respect the language and culture of other states. In this direction, "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" started by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a visionary initiative, which aims to strengthen unity, cultural exchange and mutual understanding among the different states of India. He said that Jharkhand and Bengal, these two states are not only connected geographically, but are also very close to each other culturally, socially and emotionally. The contribution made by the Bengali community living in Jharkhand in the social, cultural and economic progress of the state is highly commendable. The Governor said that the land of Bengal has been a land of creation, thought and cultural consciousness. This state has made a historic contribution to national building. From the Bengal Renaissance to the freedom struggle, this land gave birth to such great thinkers, writers, poets and revolutionaries who left an indelible mark on our national consciousness. This land gave pillars of literature like Rabindranath Tagore, Sharatchandra, Bankimchandra, whose writings gave recognition to Indian identity at the global level. He said that Bengal also gave a new direction to the country in the field of social reform and freedom struggle. Raja Ram Mohan Roy blew the trumpet against social evils, while Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose gave new momentum to the freedom movement with amazing courage and determination. The example of balance between tradition and modernity presented by the Bengali society is inspiring for the whole of India. The Governor said that the people of Bengal are festival-loving and celebrate their festivals with devotion, enthusiasm and grandeur. People from every corner of the country participate in festivals like Durga Puja and Kali Puja. He said that Bengal is not only culturally rich but has also been among the leading states of the country in terms of industry and economy. The state has made remarkable progress in the fields of jute, textile, agriculture, information technology etc.
