Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar today inaugurated a National Conference organised by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Ranchi Branch in Ranchi. In his address, the Governor said that it is a matter of joy that ICAI is a prestigious institution of the country, which has made exemplary contribution in making the Indian economy transparent, disciplined and accountable. This institution prepares not only tax advisors but also such financial watchmen who strengthen the economic foundation of the nation. Describing Chartered Accountants as the pillars of financial transparency, economic discipline and good governance, the Governor said that the activism of Ranchi Branch is striving towards strengthening tax-awareness, financial prudence and ethical professionalism in Jharkhand. Referring to India moving towards a 5 trillion dollar economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that the role of ICAI and its associated professionals is very important and decisive in this direction. The Governor also said that Jharkhand is a state rich in natural resources and manpower, but good governance of resources, transparent management and financial discipline are essential. He called upon institutions like ICAI to explore new ways of partnership with the state government and industries. The Governor said that such events become a platform for dialogue between business and governance, due to which policies reach the grassroots level effectively. He told the young chartered accountants that you are not just financial advisors, you are the financial backbone of the nation. Your behaviour must reflect honesty, punctuality and social responsibility. These values make this profession synonymous with respect and trust. The Governor congratulated the organizers for the successful event and wished the participants a bright future.
