MLA urges farmers to adopt modern techniques

In a step towards strengthening the agriculture sector and supporting local farmers, Potka MLA Sanjib  Sardar distributed MTU-7029 variety paddy seeds for the Kharif year 2025-26 at the Potka Lamps (MPCS) campus on Saturday. The event marked the beginning of agricultural assistance efforts under the Potka block. Addressing a gathering of farmers as the chief guest, Sanjib  Sardar said the state government is committed to the upliftment of farmers and has launched several schemes aimed at ensuring their prosperity. By providing quality seeds and necessary inputs, the government is working to improve agricultural productivity and economic security in rural areas. Farmers are the backbone of the nation, and their progress is essential for the overall development of both the state and the country, the MLA said. He urged the farmers to embrace modern agricultural practices and scientific methods to enhance yield and sustainability. The seed distribution program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local farming community. Sanjib  Sardar motivated them to bring innovation to traditional farming and make the most of government support. Also present at the program were Potka Lamps president Panchanan Sardar, social worker Anand Das, secretary Uttam Kumar Sah, and executive members Eklavya Mandal, Milan Sardar, Sunita Sardar, Geeta Sardar, Maya Murmu, Israr Ahmad, Afzal, and Mehboob Alam. The event concluded with a renewed sense of optimism among farmers, who expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement extended by the MLA and local administration.
