CS reviews Jal Jeevan Mission with all DCs in the State

The current status of Jal Jeevan Mission in Jharkhand, which is running for tap water in every house, was reviewed on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari. During the review, an attempt was made to find a solution to the problems coming in the way of the mission. The CS directed the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts connected through virtual medium to give leadership in the smooth implementation of the mission. She said that play an active role in establishing coordination in the works of the mission. Review it regularly. Hold meetings with the head of the area at regular intervals. This will provide good ground information of the area. Make proper use of this feedback. She said that if a case of incomplete work and full payment comes to light, take it seriously. Get it investigated and ensure appropriate action. The Chief Secretary instructed the Deputy Commissioners that whenever they go to the field for any work, they must see the work of Jal Jeevan Mission there. Assess it and if needed, solve the problem on the spot. For the success of Jal Jeevan Mission, two committed engineers are being given to all the DCs. They will work under the DCs. The CS said that by forming their technical cell, take full work. Assign them work every day and take its report. The CS said that under Jal Jeevan Mission, the executive agency has been given the responsibility of maintenance for five years. Due to this, there should be no delay in solving minor problems. If the agency fails in this, give a proposal against it, it will be resolved as soon as possible from the headquarters level. At the same time, he instructed that the Deputy Commissioner should get the administrative level obstacle removed under his leadership on priority level. Apart from this, the DCs were instructed to complete the incomplete works of Jal Jeevan Mission and hand over the completed scheme to the Gram Samiti. The Jal Jeevan Mission was started on 15 August 2019 to provide tap water to all the rural houses, schools and Anganwadi centers. The work under this scheme has to be completed by December 2028. Under this, 97,535 schemes have been taken in Jharkhand so far. Out of them, 56,332 schemes have been completed. 24,781 schemes have already been handed over to the Gram Samiti. Action is being taken to hand over the remaining schemes to the Gram Samiti. Let us tell you that there are 29,398 villages in Jharkhand. Out of them, 6963 villages have been fully connected with tap water. There are 62,54,059 houses in the villages of Jharkhand. Out of them, 34,42,332 houses are being supplied with tap water.
