State organises Marathon race for awareness against drug abuse

Tourism Minister Sudhivya Kumar today said that Chief Minister Hemant Sorens dream is that Jharkhand should be drug-free. He has taken a pledge to make Jharkhand drug-free. To fulfill his resolution, efforts have been intensified for a drug-free Jharkhand. For the last 14 days, a campaign is being run to create awareness against drug abuse. Continuing this series, a marathon race has been organized on Thursday with the aim of creating awareness among the youth for a drug-free Jharkhand. We have gathered today for the marathon race with the vision of a healthy Jharkhand, drug-free Jharkhand. Sudhivya Kumar was addressing youth gathered at Morhabadi ground on Thursday on the occasion of the marathon race organized for awareness against drug abuse. Kumar said that as we move from Morhabadi towards Albert Ekka Chowk in the marathon race, we will take a pledge at every step to stay away from drugs and for a drug-free Jharkhand. Jharkhand is trying to ensure 100 percent compliance of every aspect of the international standard of drug de-addiction. The direction of CM Hemant Soren to make Jharkhand drug-free is being followed literally. The Minister said that if the energy of the youth is used positively, it can give a better direction to the society, district, state, country and the world and if the energy of the youth goes in the wrong direction, then the entire society, state, country is affected and there is a big loss. Therefore, today the youth should take a vow through this marathon race that they will stay away from drugs. You have to give importance to sports and not drugs. There is no dearth of young talent in Jharkhand, we just need to give them the right direction and the youth who are victims of drug addiction have to be weaned off the addiction and connected to the mainstream of the society and also bring the hidden talent in them to the world stage. This is our aim, the objective of our government. Kumar on this occasion administered oath to the youth to stay away from drugs and make Jharkhand drug free. Tourism cum Sports Secretary Manoj Kumar said that the drug free campaign is very important for Jharkhand. Take a pledge that every step taken towards Albert Ekka Chowk in the marathon race will be for a drug-free Jharkhand. He said that for the last 14 days, many programs are being organized in every district, block, panchayat, school, college of Jharkhand to create awareness against drug abuse. Today, youth are being made aware through marathon race and today is the conclusion of this campaign. Minister Sudivy Kumar also rewarded the winning participants in the marathon race. These include Anoop Oraon, Srijit Sarkar, Kundan Mahato, Nirmal, Ranjit Kumar Mahato, Mamta Kumari, Rita Kumari, Suman Kumari, Sandhya Kumari, Soni Kumari. On this occasion, Principal Secretary of Home Department Vandana Dadel, Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Manjunath Bhajantri, Director Sports Shekhar Jamuwar and many officials of the district administration were present.
