45th Foundation Day of BAU A university should prepare the future that fulfills social responsibility

The 45th Foundation Day Celebration of Birsa Agricultural University BAU was inaugurated by the states Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey. On the occasion of Foundation Day, the Agricultural Engineering College building was also inaugurated by the minister. This year, the Agricultural Engineering College has received recognition. On this occasion, Tirkey said that the university is not an institution that distributes degrees, but should work to prepare the future that fulfills social responsibility. This education will actually be in the interest of our society, our state and our country. She said that Birsa Agricultural University was conceived at a time when the Green Revolution was going on in the country. This was an important beginning to connect farmers with science and technology. Baba Kartik Oraons important role in the establishment of the university is a matter of pride for all of us. The minister said that the institute is facing many challenges and the government is ready to face all those challenges. The university can be taken forward only with the joint efforts of the government, the institute, the Raj Bhavan and the students. Here, keeping personal interests and thinking away, steps will have to be taken towards fulfilling the purpose of the university. The Minister said that the purpose of building an agricultural university in this area of Chhotanagpur has been to connect the villages and the people of the village with advanced agriculture and to put them in the category of progressive farmers. The passion to do something for the society along with success should be the basic mantra of education in such a university. Addressing the Foundation Day, Kanke MLA Suresh Baitha raised the issue of students stipend. He said that the institute and the government need to think about it. Secretary of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department Abu Baqr Siddiqui said that the university is like a passport. This is the future of the students. University is necessary for knowledge. The credit for the performance of the students always goes to the university. There is no justification for a university without children. Teachers should not make any kind of compromise in the field of education. Vice Chancellor of Birsa Agricultural University Satish Chandra Dubey said that despite the shortage of teachers, the students of this institute have achieved success in the national level competitive examination. Agricultural equipment has been manufactured by the institute. About 45 thousand farmers from all over the state have been given training related to advanced agriculture. On this occasion, the book prepared by the university was released by the guests. Along with this, many farmers were also honoured from the stage in the Foundation Day celebrations. Farmers were given seeds and saplings along with a certificate as a mark of respect. On this occasion, ICAR Director Sujay Rakshit and scientists of the university were also present.
