State-of-the-art mammography machine to be installed in Sadar Hospital on June 30

Giving top priority to womens health, Rotary Club Ranchi will install a state-of-the-art digital mammography machine - Venus DRV Plus in Sadar Hospital Ranchi on June 30. In a press conference held at Rotary Club Ranchi on Friday, club spokesperson Praveen Rajgarhia said that this machine is being installed by Rotary Club of Ranchi under its Project Arogyaam - Battling Breast Cancer. It has also received support from Rotary Club Suwon-Nosong D-3750 of South Korea. The cost of the machine is around Rs 45 lakh. Rotary Club Ranchi President Gaurav Bagroy said that this digital mammography machine will be inaugurated on June 30, 2025. After the installation of the machine, the facility of breast cancer screening will be available at a very low rate in Sadar Hospital. The beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana will get this service completely free of cost. The aim of this initiative is not just to install a machine but to encourage women to get tested on time and spread awareness about breast cancer. He informed that the machine will be inaugurated by the chief guest DG Rotarian Bipin Chachan, First Lady Rotarian Shilpi Chachan, Civil Surgeon Ranchi Dr. Prabhat Kumar. He said that Sadar Hospital, Ranchi is not only the main health center of the district headquarters but is also a lifeline for the surrounding rural areas. Our aim is that every needy patient gets quality medical facility on time. Therefore, Rotary Ranchi has decided to install the machine in Sadar Hospital Ranchi keeping in view the interest of the common people. Rotary Ranchi will also organize a training program for mammography machine for the doctors and para-medical staff working in Sadar Hospital along with the maintenance of the machine for three consecutive years. Women above 40 years of age have a higher risk of breast cancer. Detection of cancer in the early stage not only makes treatment easier but can also save lives. Mammography is an effective technique. It can detect even the smallest lump, tissue change or abnormal structure, that too before clinical symptoms appear. This facility will contribute significantly in the early detection and prevention of breast cancer. The state-of-the-art mammography Venus DVR Plus has many features. It is based on Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) technology. Its smart AEC technology gives the exact amount of X-ray dose to the patient as per the requirement. It gives high quality imaging-image on the screen in just 10 seconds. There are specially designed compression paddles for low pressure and painless examination. Clear identification facility is available even in dense breast tissue. Rotarians are contributing to install this machine worth Rs 45 lakh.
