Investment consultant Prabhat Sharma held a meeting with Priyank Kishore, IAS, Collector of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, during a recent visit to Silvassa to discuss the regions industrial landscape and explore new avenues of collaboration for businesses from Jharkhand. According to Sharma, the discussions centered on the prevailing industrial and economic environment in and around Silvassa, which has emerged as a prominent hub for manufacturing and allied industries in recent years. He emphasized that the unique ecosystem of Dadra and Nagar Haveli offers several potential opportunities for Jharkhand-based entrepreneurs and industrialists, particularly those operating out of Jamshedpur, to diversify their ventures and establish a presence in the western region of the country. The deliberations also touched upon the welfare measures and amenities being provided to industrial workers by various companies operating in the area. Worker welfare is an important parameter for sustainable industrial growth. We were impressed by the quality of facilities and the emphasis on ensuring decent standards for employees, Sharma noted. During the visit, the delegation toured the newly developed ultra-modern district hospital in Silvassa, which Sharma described as perhaps unique in the country in terms of infrastructure, medical equipment, and patient care facilities. Later in the evening, Sharma, formerly a Tata Steel executive, also interacted with a group of industrialists, service providers, and business representatives from Jharkhand, Bihar, and Odisha. The meeting focused on possibilities of cross-regional partnerships, sharing of best practices, and exploring investment avenues in manufacturing and allied sectors. The visit is seen as part of broader efforts to connect Jharkhands entrepreneurs with emerging industrial corridors and to identify models that can be replicated back home to strengthen industrial development and improve worker welfare.
