New Delhi/Dubai, July 3, 2025 – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of Indias largest steel producers with over 20 million tonnes of annual crude steel capacity, has inaugurated its first international representative office in Dubai, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy.   The office was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy, in the presence of the Consul General of India to Dubai, Satish Kumar Sivan; SAIL Chairperson Amarendu Prakash; NMDC Chairperson Amitava Mukherjee; Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, V.K. Tripathi; and senior officials from SAIL, the Ministry of Steel, NMDC, and MECON.   Strategically located in Dubai, the office will act as a hub to enhance steel exports, build stronger industry linkages, and reinforce trade partnerships between India and the UAE. Dubais strategic position as a gateway to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, along with its investor-friendly environment, makes it an ideal location for SAILs outreach to emerging markets.   The opening of this office aligns with Indias broader vision to elevate the global footprint of its steel industry and achieve the national steel production target of 300 million tonnes by 2030. This development marks a key milestone in SAILs journey toward becoming a globally competitive steelmaker and underscores Indias growing prominence in the global steel market.
