Guru Purnima was celebrated with great joy on Thursday, 10th of July at Yogoda Ashram, Ranchi. Celebration started with a special online group meditation and a talk by Swami Pavitrananda Giri in Morning where devotees from all over India participated. Speaking on guru-disciple relationship Swami Pavitrananda quoted Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandas words, "Follow the teachings that India has given, and in which her masters have specialized. Her supreme gift to the world is the knowledge of how to find God, through step-by-step methods. If you follow the Self-Realization[Yogoda Satsanga] teachings of India, you can find God in this life" adding to this Swamiji explained that, Yoganandaji knew that in this modern age—when gurus and disciples are often separated by distance—it would be difficult for the disciple to sit at the feet of the Guru and so he originated Yogoda Satsanga Lessons which include the powerful system of meditation techniques: the Kriya Yoga science of meditation. This ancient science of the soul—to which millions have been introduced by his book Autobiography of a Yogi —provides powerful methods for awakening higher spiritual consciousness and the inner bliss of divine realization. Thereafter from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m devotees attending the program joined joyous chanting of bhajans led by Brahamacharis Shambhavananda and Gautamananda while Guru Puja was being performed. After the bhajans, hundreds of devotees as well as locals and other visitors were served Bhandara Prasad. Ceremony ended in the evening with special 3-hour long meditation led by Brahmachari Satchidananda. During this meditation he read some extracts from Yogoda Satsanga teachings where he explained how Paramahansa Yogananda was ordained by the deathless master Mahavatar Babaji to disseminate Kriya Yoga in America and worldwide.
