From Europe with Love: How Manvi Jain and Neha Singhs Mon Dimora Carried the Charm of France, Italy, and England to Indias Doorstep

It was one of those dreamy, half-slow afternoons where you dont expect much to happen. I was curled up with my phone, scrolling mindlessly through Instagram, when I stumbled upon something that felt magical. It was a porcelain plate. Red berries and soft green leaves danced along its surface. It felt vintage, romantic, something youd place on the table for the people you love most. Then I saw another: white, with blue aquatic motifs and a golden rim. It was called the Wintertale Plate. The more I scrolled, the more enchanted I became. I dove into their website. Each piece felt like a work of art. The Red Berry Plate was delicate and festive. The Wintertale Plate looked like it belonged at a dinner table in a European countryside cottage. And then I saw that the brand, Mon Dimora, was founded by two Indian women: Manvi Jain and Neha Singh. My heart flipped. Because this wasnt just about good design. This was about two women with courage. Women who took the first step, dared to reach across continents, and created something I had never seen in India. I wrote to them immediately, and to my joy, they replied warmly. Within a day, we were speaking, and their story was even more beautiful than the plates. Mon Dimora started not in a boardroom, but in notebooks filled with scribbles and late-night ideas. Manvi and Neha had long loved crockery. They noticed how Indian markets were flooded with mass-produced ceramics. People would bring back beautiful porcelain from France or Italy, but here, there wasnt much choice. So they decided to change that. They began handpicking porcelain pieces directly from family-run workshops in the villages of France, Italy, and England. Every piece is handmade, unique, and full of history. Some even carry the coat of arms of the artisan families. And despite being shipped internationally, Mon Dimora has had zero breakages, thanks to their thoughtful and sustainable packaging. But their biggest challenge wasnt logistics. It was trust. Many European artisans only want to deal with brands that have physical stores. Convincing them to work with an e-commerce business based in India was no easy task. But Manvi and Neha were persistent, respectful, and sincere. Over time, the artisans saw their vision and agreed. The name Mon Dimora perfectly embodies the brands spirit, combining the words mon (my) and dimora (home) to evoke a sense of personal sanctuary and timeless elegance Manvi handles creative direction, packaging, and brand feel. Neha is the business brain, decisive, logical, and focused. Its a match made in entrepreneurial heaven. Together, they complement each other beautifully. What struck me most was their mutual admiration. In a world where so many people fight for credit, these two constantly give it away. And thats what makes them so special. Their journey hasnt been without hurdles. Managing operations, dealing with time zones and language gaps, and respecting European work cultures while balancing Indian customer expectations hasnt been easy. But they have handled it all with grace, patience, and an unwavering sense of purpose. They both believe deeply in spirituality. In their words, this brand has unfolded with divine timing. They believe in good karma, in setting pure intentions, and in doing the work without obsessing over the result. Their families, especially their husbands, have been their biggest cheerleaders. Today, Mon Dimora has built a loyal customer base. Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Tara Sutaria follow their work. Theyve collaborated with iconic design houses like Gulmohar Lane and The House of Things, all because they dared to try. Their dream is to become a one-stop shop for premium tableware in India, expanding into candle stands, cutlery, and more. But they are clear on one thing: no mass production. They want to preserve the innocence and authenticity with which they started. To young women entrepreneurs, their message is simple: take the first step. Dont worry about profits in the beginning. You might lose money. But keep your head down, trust the process, and think long term. Because Mon Dimora isnt just about porcelain. Its about belief, friendship, resilience, and dreaming across borders. Its about showing that two Indian women can bring the magic of European artistry into Indian homes, beautifully and meaningfully. In a world that often celebrates noise over nuance, we need more Manvis and more Nehas. Women with humility, grace, and quiet strength. Women who build with love, lead with trust, and shine with spirit. I ended our call feeling inspired and full of admiration. I cant wait to meet them in person. And I truly cant wait for our next conversation. Because some stories arent just meant to be written. Theyre meant to be remembered, shared, and celebrated again and again.
