‘90% schools in Ranchi don’t follow CBSE norms’

RANCHI: In a bid to tighten the noose around CBSE schools , the district administration has decided to send lists of schools to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board which are violating CBSE directive by forcing parents to purchase books and uniforms from assigned shops or the school premises.Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manoj Kumar said parents can approach consumer court if they are being harassed by the school managements. "We have already got the names of 18 shops which are doing brisk business by selling text books and uniforms at the behest of school administration," he said.Kumar also said he has already informed his staff to prepare a separate list of schools selling books and uniforms and those who are not following NCERT text books as per the CBSE guidelines.
