Man killed by wild elephant in Bokaro

BOKARO: A 50-year-old man was killed by an elephant at Mahuataad under Nawadih block on Monday. "We have appealed to villagers to remain alert and not go near the elephants," Naidu said. The elephants ran amok and trampled Mahto to death.Divisional forest officer (DFO) Rajender Naidu said the herd was last spotted at Upperghat area. Forest officials said the incident took place when Mohan Mahto went to watch a herd of 18 elephants that had entered the district from Hazaribag.Mahto was about 25 feet away from the herd when one of the villagers started throwing stones at it.
