Bid to promote turmeric variety

SHILLONG: Meghalaya governor Ganga Prasad on Tuesday launched Mission Lakadong , a five-year plan to promote cultivation of the Lakadong turmeric and improve the livelihood of farmers. The mission is an initiative undertaken by the directorate of horticulture, department of agriculture, community and rural development department, forest department, North Eastern Hill University and Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship.
