BSF nabs 'jihadi' on Bangla border

SHILLONG: Personnel of the Meghalaya Frontier of the BSF apprehended a prospective Islamist 'jihadi' on the Bangladesh border in South Garo Hills on Wednesday. "BSF troops deployed at Baghmara, South Garo Hills apprehended one Bangladeshi national on the zero line. During questioning, he revealed that he works for Jamat-e-Islami foundation in Bangladesh ," a BSF spokesperson said on Thursday. Having observed some suspected movement near the unfenced area on the international boundary, the BSF party encircled the suspected area and apprehended the person namely Mohammed Jaharul Islam (26).
