With 30% allocation, Meghalaya health sector to get a boost: CM

SHILLONG: Chief minister Conrad Sangma on Monday said the increase in the budgetary allocation for health - from 7% to 30% - would help improve the overall efficiency of service delivery in the health sector. Meghalaya usually allocates 7% to the sector, which is higher than the national average," Conrad said. Terming the development of infrastructure and upgradation of human resource as the key element in ensuring better service delivery, the CM expressed optimism that the government would be able to initiate work on setting up of two medical colleges as soon as possible.
