A Correspondent SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said that Inner Line Permit (ILP) will not affect tourism in the State. Tynsong said that if the Centre considers the resolution of the Assembly to implement ILP, the State Government will have to frame rules. “We will make sure that the rules are very flexible as far as tourism sector is concerned. We will allow the tourist to come in freely to experience and witness the scenic beauty of the state,” the Deputy Chief Minister said. On the allegation made by the Opposition Congress that the State Government was trying to convince everyone to accept the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), Tynsong said that it is the role of the Opposition to keep on alleging and accusing. “The State Government is totally against the implementation of the CAA,” the Deputy Chief Minister said. Tynsong reiterated that the special session convened on December 19, 2019 to pass the resolution for implementation of ILP in the state clearly reflects the sincerity of the government. The Deputy Chief Minister also refused to “presume things” when asked what if the centre does not approve ILP for Meghalaya.
