"It has been observed that for some time misinformation regarding non-availability of non-vegetarian food items in various food outlets in NEIGRIHMS has been repeatedly published in some newspapers. "Neither the director nor any other officer has ever directed contractors of the canteen to stop serving any kind of food," the statement added. SHILLONG: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences ( NEIGRIHMS ) has rubbished reports which have appeared in certain sections of the media that its new director has put restrictions on serving non-vegetarian food in the hospital's canteens. One is in the casualty area of the hospital, which has a kitchen and serves freshly cooked vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to patients and attendants here," a statement issued the by the medical institute said. NEIGRIHMS authorities want to clarify that there are two major canteens in the hospital.
