Central varsity again a political issue in Himachal Pradesh

It was BJP only which has started process to get forest clearance for the land identified for the varsity.Recently, congress state chief Sukhwinder Sukhu held a rally on March 30 in Dehra and blamed Anurag Thakur that he has not done anything for the CUHP.Adding to this Sudhir Sharma, former congress minister told TOI it was in September 2017 when he was minister that central team visited the proposed site for the institute and approved the same.“But now this govt. Central varsity was running in temporary campus in Dharamsala and Shahpur areas of this district.BJP MP Anurag Thakur last week announced that within three months foundation stone of this institute will be laid in Dehra (a part of Hamirpur parliamentary constituency).Following this Congress leader, a former minister Sudhir Sharma held a protest March on Saturday submitting memorandum to President, Prime Minister and Union education minister asking them that land was already identified in Dharamsala and therefore this area deserves first priority.Contradicting this move, BJP leader Kishan Kapoor sitting cabinet minister told TOI that no progress in this regard was made in the congress regime.
