CHANDIGARH: The district court remanded the man accused of raping a British woman in a city-hotel in judicial custody. The accused, Farhanuz Zama , a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who had been living in Mauli Jagran, was arrested from Kishangarh Chowk. He was produced in the court of the duty magistrate. The hotel employee allegedly sexually harassed the 50-year-old British woman while giving her a foot massage in her room at an IT Park hotel on December 20.The woman was staying in the hotel with her male friend. As per FIR, she alleged that the accused harassed her while giving the massage. She reported the matter to hotel officials and left the city for Shimla, after which the hotel sacked the accused. On December 25, the woman returned to the city and lodged a formal complaint at IT Park police station. She said she was not aware about the legal procedure and sought her friends' opinion before filing a complaint.
