Before PM Narendra Modi's rally, rain lashes Shimla

SHIMLA: Right before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Shimla, rains have started which could play the spoilsport as around 10,000 chairs at the Ridge have been left drenched. Party hopes that with Modi's rally it would be able to sway votes in its favour in the municipal elections. Tight security arrangements have been made for the rally.As BJP has planned to make Thursday's rally a show of strength ahead of coming assembly election in Himachal Pradesh , huge crowd from across state is expected to emerge for the rally. As the Ridge has limited space, 10 LED screens have been installed along the Mall Road and Scandal Point to ensure live telecast of Modi's speech for those not getting space at the Ridge.Parivartan Rally holds significance for BJP as before assembly elections, party would face Municipal Corporation election in Shimla in May. As dark clouds have covered Shimla and rain continuing suspense continues over the landing of flight at Jubbar Hatti airport from where Modi would be launching the low cost air service Under Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN).Modi was also scheduled to hold road show from Mall Road to the Ridge where he would address the " Parivartan Rally " of BJP but rain has also posed a big question mark on the proposed road show in open jeep.To ensure that people do not suffer during the road show, barricading has been done at the Mall Road so that even during the road show of Modi in the open jeep, commuters can walk on the Mall Road without any problem.
