Class III student beaten up mercilessly for coming late to school in Jammu and Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A class III student was mercilessly thrashed by his teacher for coming late to school in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district.The student, who was late by 15 minutes, was taken into a room and beaten up with a cane. He was also threatened to not tell anyone about the incident.The agitated parents brought the matter to the principal's notice, yet no action has been initiated against the teacher.The parents warned of reporting the matter to the police if no action was taken against the teacher.This is not the first incident of this kind, which has led to an increase in school dropout rates.Two-three days back, a student met with an accident when a teacher sent him to fetch grocery for her.
