Surat: Gautam Goyani alias Golden, accused in the sensational 2016 Varachha triple murder case, was hacked to death by his three aides near Kamrej police chowki here in the early hours of Monday. Of the three aides, one involved in Goyani’s murder was a co-accused in the triple murder while another was involved with him in a murder executed at a different place.Kishan Khokhar, Veja Madam and an unidentified person were booked at Kamrej police station for the history-sheeter’s murder. Goyani’s sister Komal, 26, a resident of Kamrej and an accused in the triple murder, lodged a complaint against the three. Komal alleged in her complaint that her brother was murdered by the accused as they had been offered a contract by an influential person. Komal alleged it was a revenge attack. Bharat, one of the deceased in the triple murder case, happened to be brother of Praful alias Pappan Togadiya, who is Congress councillor and leader of opposition in Surat Municipal Corporation. Goyani was near Kamrej police chowki when he was stabbed multiple times in neck and other parts of the body by the three accused at around 12.30am. He was shifted to a hospital in a car where the doctors declared him brought dead.Bharat Togadiya, 40; Bharat Hirani, 45; and Ashok Patel, 32, were killed on May 14 in 2016 by Goyani gang. Bharat was related to former VHP leader Dr Pravin Togadia. Komal had allegedly instigated her brother to launch the murderous attack, angered over not receiving a share in a land deal that had benefited the deceased.Police are questioning those present at the spot of murder. Police will also be questioning Praful Togadia because Komal has named him in the complaint.
