SURAT: Depot manager of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) at Navsari and his subordinate were caught taking bribe of Rs 20,000 from the clerk of the same organization. The clerk was transferred from Valsad to Navsari GSRTC depot and the duo demanded Rs 30,000 from the complainant to allow him to join duty.According to case details, when the clerk came to join duty, Navsari depot manager Salim Abdul Hamid Momin demanded Rs 30,000 to allow him to take charge. Momin asked the clerk to pay Rs 20,000 as first installment to his subbordinate Mushtak Yusuf Bangdiwala this month and remaining Rs 10,000 the next month.A trap was set by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) officials after the clerk lodged a complaint. Bangdiwala was caught accepting Rs 20,000 by ACB. Both Bangdiwala and Momin were arrested by ACB police inspector C M Jadeja under the supervision of in-charge assistant director, ACB Surat, N P Gohil.
