SURAT: Two men were convicted for printing and circulating counterfeit currency by a local court on Tuesday. The convicts were awarded 10 years of jail. The third accused, a minor, arrested for his involvement in the racket was sent to juvenile home earlier.Chirag Vora, 26, resident of Sarthana and Vimal Gadhadara, 30, of Varachha, were sent to jail for 10 years by a local court. A 17-year-old minor was sent to juvenile home earlier at the time of his arrest. The convicts were arrested for running the racket from a residential apartment in Sarthana in January 2012 by special operation group (SOG).“The court had considered all the scientific evidences and the raid conducted by police while announcing the verdict. Two convicts were sent to jail for 10 years, while one minor was earlier sent to juvenile home,” said Kishore Revaliya, additional public prosecutor.Following a tip-off, police sent a dummy buyer to a first floor flat of Krishna Apartment at Vraj Bhoomi Township in Kapodra police station limits. Police had received information that the convicts were selling four fake notes of Rs 500 against one original note of Rs 500. After the buyer returned with four fake notes, cops raided the apartment.
