Surat: The police and fire teams failed to find kidnapped boy Neev Patel (2) from river Mindhola even on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the police are questioning Neev’s father Nishith to find out exact details about his claims of kidnapping from Vanesa village in Surat district. Police suspect that Nishith is hiding something.Police recorded Nishith’s statement on Wednesday to find out the exact details. He was questioned at length to find out if he is telling the truth. However, the police refused to share detail about the questioning.For the third consecutive day, search operation to locate the child continued by police and teams of fire officials from city and rural area. The fire teams searched for the boy with three boats and entire stretch from Bardoli up to estuary was searched, but without any success.Non-recovery of the body has raised several questions about the kidnapping claim of Nishith. According to Nishith’s claim, the boy was kidnapped by seven persons in an autorickshaw, but police did not find any rickshaw in the CCTV footage recovered.“So far there is no important development in the investigation. The body is not yet found,” superintendent of police, Surat district, Mahesh Naik said.Naik refused to comment if Nishith has shared some more details about contradictions in his claims of kidnapping.
