SURAT: Police arrested a history-sheeter on Friday for allegedly firing four rounds on a 23-year-old man in gang war. The accused had fired four rounds on Yusuf Khan, a resident of Limbayat on Thursday, when he was getting off the Rankpur Express on platform number one. His condition is stated to be stable.Police investigation so far has revealed that Khan and Shaikh had developed enmity since both are involved in criminal activities. However, the police are yet to confirm if Hasim, for whom Khan and Shaikh used to work, is also involved in the attack.Shaikh informed the police that he bought the pistol from Saddam alias ‘wanted’. Khan suffered two bullet injuries and was admitted to a hospital.

Police claimed that the accused was nabbed from near Vadodara, while sources said the accused surrendered before the police through a mediator, who has close ties with senior cops and Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officers.Police arrested welder Sarfaraz alias Shibu alias Tiger Mohammad Shaikh (26) from under Dhanyavi crossroads flyover bridge. The accused had fired four rounds on Yusuf Khan, a resident of Limbayat on Thursday, when he was getting off the Rankpur Express on platform number one. Khan suffered two bullet injuries and was admitted to a hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.Police investigation so far has revealed that Khan and Shaikh had developed enmity since both are involved in criminal activities.
