Three arrested for conspiracy to kill two businessmen

Surat: Three persons were arrested from an area under the limits of Umra police station on Monday for giving a contract of Rs15 lakh to kill two businessmen. The main accused gave the contract to kill the complainant over an old rivalry. Hemant, a resident of Piplod, lodged a police complaint after he came to know about the conspiracy to kill him.Hemant told police that he was informed by Nilesh Kala who was also offered the contract along with Kahar. The accused were remanded in police custody by a court until Wednesday.Viral Patel, Ashish alias Kaliyo Patel and Rahul alias Maxi Kahar were arrested by police for planning to murder Hemant Patel, owner of a restaurant, and his friend Yogesh Patel, also a businessman. Viral suspected that Hemant and his friends were behind the attack on his father.

However, Kala alerted Hemant about the murder conspiracy.“Police requested the court custody of the accused and they were remanded until Wednesday,” said a police officer at Umra police station.Police probe revealed that Viral’s father was attacked by some persons in the recent past. Viral suspected that Hemant and his friends were behind the attack on his father. Hence, he planned to get Hemant and Yogesh killed, said police sources adding that the complainant and the accused had a dispute over ownership of a plot of land worth several hundred crores in Piplod. tnn
