Surat: A 17-year-old teenager was detained from an area under the limits of Katargam police station on Saturday for allegedly raping a 23-year-old married woman multiple times. The accused had raped the woman at knifepoint also and taken her nude photos with his mobile phone, police said. The woman had informed her family members recently and they approached police who produced him in juvenile court after detaining him. He has been sent to juvenile home by the court.The accused and the rape survivor are neighbours. The woman is mother of two children and lives with her diamond polisher husband. The accused is son of a diamond polisher and had discontinued his studies a few years ago. He used to just loaf around.Police investigation revealed that the accused first started taking photos of the woman with his mobile phone. He then placed his mobile phone in the window of bathroom of the woman and shot her videos. The accused forced the woman to get physical with him after showing her the nude photos. He also threatened to upload her videos on social media.The woman succumbed to his demands in September 2018.“The woman recently gathered courage and informed her family members. They approached police who detained the accused. He was sent to juvenile home by the court,” said a police officer of Katargam police station.Police have seized the accused’s mobile phone and two memory cards. The phone and memory cards have been sent for examination in Forensic Science Laboratory. Police are trying to recover the photos and videos of the woman shot by the accused with his mobile phone.
