Brain dead worker’s organs to benefit four

The blood clot was removed by an operation on June 21 but Patil died on June 21 evening. The team of doctors left Surat at 4pm and will transplant the organs in the bodies of four recipients upon reaching Ahmedabad, hospital sources said. Patil was rushed to New Civil Hospital where it was diagnosed that he had a blood clot in his brain. His wife Anita Patil, daughter Poonam Patil, 21, and sons Bhavesh, 18, and Bunty Patil, 15, agreed to donate their loved one's organs so as to help people suffering from different ailments.A team of doctors from the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre, Ahmedabad accepted the donation of kidneys and liver on Wednesday..For the first time in the city, the liver of a brain-dead donor was split into two to benefit two patients.
