Surat Municipal Corporation starts recovery of Rs 46 cr property tax from Reliance, BSNL

Surat: Bharat Dalal, additional city engineer, was appointed city engineer by the standing committee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) here on Friday.Standing committee chairman Rajesh Desai said, "We have decided to appoint the in-charge city engineer as city engineer on a proposal from municipal commissioner. "The standing committee at its meeting also took the decision to terminate the contracts of Goldie Hotels Private Limited and Rainbow Travels. Goldie Hotels Pvt Ltd had illegally constructed some structures on the riverfront while Rainbow Travels had failed to operate the number of city buses that it had agreed to.
