Man alleges cheating by wife of Rs 61 lakh in Surat

SURAT: Police booked a 30-year-old married woman and her family in Umra police station on Monday for alleged cheating of Rs 61 lakh with her businessman husband. The complainant alleged that the accused earned Rs 6.21 lakh profit on the investment and did not return it as well. The complainant claimed that he deposited Rs 34.46 lakh in bank account of the accused over a period of time and the money was spent by Shweta. She refused to return the money.Later the accused also took gold coins from the complainant and his mother worth Rs 18.75 lakh for an investment opportunity and did not return. Karnav alleged in his compliant that his wife and her family cheated her for total Rs 61 lakh during March 2015 to September 2017.Karnav alleged that his wife had spent and did not return him the money which he deposited in bank account of her and her family members.

The woman allegedly took money and gold from her husband and did not return it when demanded.Police booked Shweta Shah , her mother Alka, brother Kushal, all residents of Indore in Madhya Pradesh , and a relative Binoy Shah from Mumbai for alleged cheating with the complainant Karnav Shah , a resident of Parle Point area in the city. Karnav alleged in his compliant that his wife and her family cheated her for total Rs 61 lakh during March 2015 to September 2017.Karnav alleged that his wife had spent and did not return him the money which he deposited in bank account of her and her family members. The complainant claimed that he deposited Rs 34.46 lakh in bank account of the accused over a period of time and the money was spent by Shweta. She refused to return the money.Later the accused also took gold coins from the complainant and his mother worth Rs 18.75 lakh for an investment opportunity and did not return. The complainant alleged that the accused earned Rs 6.21 lakh profit on the investment and did not return it as well.
