THANE: A constable attached to Vartak Nagar police station and his aide were arrested on Tuesday for kidnapping and extorting a youngster from Nandurbar after luring him into a honeytrap.The arrested include constable Deepak Vairagad and his aide Sohail , while the girl, identified as Ayesha Khan , and another accused are absconding, said DCP Zone-5, Sunil Lokhande.According to the complaint, the 22-year-old victim from Akkalkuwa in Nandurbar district was acquainted with Sohail, a resident of Rabodi. The victim asked Sohail to help him get a girlfriend."A couple of days back, the victim received a message from a girl, who identified herself as Ayesha," said an officer.On the girl's insistence, the victim came to the city on Monday and they went to a private bungalow in Yeoor where they got physically intimate. However, three persons, including the constable, landed up there.Vairagad allegedly demanded Rs10 lakh, threatening to slap him with rape charges if he did not pay up.The constable kept him overnight at a lodge in Bhiwandi and assaulted him. The youth finally reached out to his father, who alerted the Kashimira police. The accused were arrested while accepting the money. -Nishikant Karlikar
