THANE: As many as 8,000 MSEDCL consumers had to sweat it out after there was complete blackout late on Sunday after a fire broke out in the transformer system at Savarkar Nagar.However, due to the quick thinking of the power officials, the incovenience caused to consumers was minimal. The MSEDCL authorities promptly shifted the load to an alternative power source which ensured that the power supply was restored within two hours. Power was completely restorated by four hours.No one was injured in the incident.
