Thane: Transporter arrested with Rs 20 lakh demonetised notes

A search revealed a bag containing the demonetised currency.Police said the accused has not yet revealed what he planned to do with the scrapped notes. ULHASNAGAR: Vithalwadi police in Ulhasnagar have seized around Rs 20 lakh demonetised currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 and arrested a man said to be involved in the transport business.The arrested accused has been identified as Laxman Manuja , a resident of ‘C’ block area in Ulhasnagar.Police said on Thursday night, a police sub-inspector and constable received specific information that a man carrying demonetised currency notes was headed toward Surya Lodge. Police laid a trap and nabbed Manuja who came in a Swift car.
